So its time too look at showreels and what better way to start then filling my blog full of youtube and vimeo links of what i like and what i cant achieve because my work is amateur to the quality that is out online at the moment even backdating to like 2008 or something... its ridiculous
So as you can tell this showreel is quite low quality but its from a design group that do quite alot when it comes to TV as you could see there was a scene there from holby city... which to be fair its all subtle vfx like taking away flares or adding elements the delivery is nice... the music not so much!
But in all... quite a nice little showreel especially with the linear wipes to show the subtle add on or removal of elements.
This is a really well cut piece of showreel from a guy names Michael Dean who really shows off his editing side aswell as vfx as you watch the piece just listen to the music and watch the cuts... its text book perfect for somebody whos trying to get into the media... it worries me a little because even though our showreel has a time limit... this guy showed alot of work off like little snippets where as im really struggling to find pieces im proud of also worrying about how to show off Audio clips that ive done for a sound brief i did... in my 2ndyear
STRESS IS COMING TOGETHER NOW
TIME FOR SOME VIMEO STUFF (really well made stuff that makes me cry on how untalented i am in comparison)
Okay so looking at visual effects groups its ridiculous i see work like this and i just have no idea how im going to subliminally transition from project to project... when theres no relevance as there all briefed work not work i choose to do myself...
if it was work ive chosen to create myself... id be more than proud to show it off because im a perfectionist and i wouldnt finish it till its up to standards that id like to get complimented on... bit of an EGO boost i know... ;) but ... you have to be proud of your work otherwise it wouldnt be seen.
Yet again another high intensive showreel showcasing work that 'The Mill' have produced.... alot of transitions between work... which makes me want to cry... because its JUST SOOO GOOD! i think after this project i will produce work in after effects and 3D programmes and rework my showreel so one its longer... and two it showcases work ive really wanted to produce that shows me... sort of like motion graphics adverts for drinks etc...
GOD DAMN i hate looking at showreels then looking through my work for potential parts id like to show off...
