Sorry blog... ive been abusing you...
So... i seem to be abusing my blog and picking it up and putting it down as it pleases me and that isnt going to get me a good grade... is it now? please give me a first? lol
So now ive spoken to my blog... lets get down to the nitty gritty...
i tried the html stuff it made me ill like i kid you not it actually sent me to hospital i was that stressed i forgot to take my meds and had to go to hospital to get checked up on :( not fun...
so as ive tried the html side... i dont fancy anymore added stress on top of missing a few weeks of my main project aswell as my animation and visual effects project which i also dont know how to keyframe animate in 3D programmes... 3rd year is HARD
so... i started to look at website builders... specifically html based... website builders and my photography friend gave me a link that was mearly based for showing of images... i wanted to see if i could tweak settings and put a video slider in aswell... but didnt really go so well very GOOD editing website... but its a payed one... which i didnt like...
http://4ormat.com/
As you can see from browsing around that website its html5 and it works on iphones and ipads... aswell as towers and other devices... so this sort of swayed me... but i didnt like the fact you have to pay monthly... the whole idea of this is to get myself a job to give myself money... not loose money before it even begins...
I THEN found wix.com i actually had a look at wix.com back when it was early first year days...
so i dabbled with this and found it to work quite well... so ill give you a screen grab of something i started to create within the website...
So as you can see i went for a professional approach... with easy accessibility and worked around the idea of using drop down menus with NO SCROLLBARS i really hate them and i have no idea why... i just think they look unprofessional for a showreel website...
as you can see i put widgets in for Twitter, Vimeo and linkedIn and put a basic ANTWONK | MEDIA in the top left corner and on the pictures on the top right... just so i keep copy right of my images... as i dont know how to set them so you cant right click and save....
I also went into the settings and changed the advance settings few a little bit of coding so it would fit all screens... to the best resolution...
I even had a clickable link so where you see Anthony Turner - Cinematographer at the bottom you can Click on to send me a message... that would then come direct to my email address.
I also wanted to show more to me than just zombies... i wanted to show some VFX shots off or atleast a place for them to go...

Showreel examples....
So its time too look at showreels and what better way to start then filling my blog full of youtube and vimeo links of what i like and what i cant achieve because my work is amateur to the quality that is out online at the moment even backdating to like 2008 or something... its ridiculous
So as you can tell this showreel is quite low quality but its from a design group that do quite alot when it comes to TV as you could see there was a scene there from holby city... which to be fair its all subtle vfx like taking away flares or adding elements the delivery is nice... the music not so much!
But in all... quite a nice little showreel especially with the linear wipes to show the subtle add on or removal of elements.
This is a really well cut piece of showreel from a guy names Michael Dean who really shows off his editing side aswell as vfx as you watch the piece just listen to the music and watch the cuts... its text book perfect for somebody whos trying to get into the media... it worries me a little because even though our showreel has a time limit... this guy showed alot of work off like little snippets where as im really struggling to find pieces im proud of also worrying about how to show off Audio clips that ive done for a sound brief i did... in my 2ndyear
STRESS IS COMING TOGETHER NOW
TIME FOR SOME VIMEO STUFF (really well made stuff that makes me cry on how untalented i am in comparison)
Okay so looking at visual effects groups its ridiculous i see work like this and i just have no idea how im going to subliminally transition from project to project... when theres no relevance as there all briefed work not work i choose to do myself...
if it was work ive chosen to create myself... id be more than proud to show it off because im a perfectionist and i wouldnt finish it till its up to standards that id like to get complimented on... bit of an EGO boost i know... ;) but ... you have to be proud of your work otherwise it wouldnt be seen.
Yet again another high intensive showreel showcasing work that 'The Mill' have produced.... alot of transitions between work... which makes me want to cry... because its JUST SOOO GOOD! i think after this project i will produce work in after effects and 3D programmes and rework my showreel so one its longer... and two it showcases work ive really wanted to produce that shows me... sort of like motion graphics adverts for drinks etc...
GOD DAMN i hate looking at showreels then looking through my work for potential parts id like to show off...

Website Link Zilla
http://www.templatemonster.com/website-templates/39070.html
so this link i love.... and would work so well as a website with changing the background etc... and wording it for me... but for a starting point its a great look in... and i love it more because its not GOT SCROLLBARS! thank god!
http://www.templatemonster.com/website-templates/38562.html
now this one i like because of its customisable appearance but yet again its one you'd have to pay for...
http://www.templatemonster.com/website-templates/38377.html
this one i like for the colour grade of the overall piece its quite subtle and professional but still has a range to develop it more...
These are just a few of many templates i looked at that are paid templates i like the free templates but theres alot of work id like to put into the free templates that Anne showed us on one of the lessons im just not liking the tweaking side when ive got soo much work to do on different modules... this module is pushing me over the edge its stressful but if executed well it would be great to use on a cv or to search for jobs... just an ONLINE presence... that you wouldnt have otherwise.
